1.Welcome and introduction

The steering committee welcomed members of the public to the meeting

2. Review of the year

www.adderbury.org was launched on 30.09.06 by Tony Baldry

A huge vote of thanks was given to Karen Reynolds and Angela Pugh for their forbearance and sheer hard work to produce, sustain and continually improve this significant contribution to the village - and to the committee for their support

But it was pointed out that ongoing success depended heavily on contribution and input from villagers, which had been something of a disappointment against (some!) expectations

Statistically the site had a regular flow of visitors, averaging 1400 per month, and from all parts of the world, especially USA, Spain, Germany, Australia, Netherlands - and Azerbaijan

Most visited pages beyond the home page were Hot Topics, classifieds, businesses and the village map

3. Finance

The cost of set up and maintenance was a mere £320 thanks to the voluntary contribution of the site managers

Income was £600, with more to come from sponsorships, and the planned property page, so sufficient working capital was in place to be able to go ahead with some required improvements

4.Adoption of members

There was no interest from the audience in joining the steering group

5. Election of officers

Nick Fennell was re-elected as Chairman, Chris Wardley as Treasurer, and the rest of the committee en bloc

While Karen and Angela were prepared to continue as site managers, they and Chris Hart would finalise recommendations for alternative software which would enable more of the load to be spread

6. AOB / Future plans

-The Constitution would be updated

-The Photographic Club would be asked to contribute material and ideas for improving the number variety of photographs

-Committee members responsible for each section content would ensure it was thoroughly updated for the new year, with an invitation on the site as well

-There would be no section for the over 12’s, but Joyce Cox would seek out an under 12’s editor prepared to provide ongoing fresh content

-Other ideas were sought for driving traffic to the site – gardening (jobs for the month), cookery, (today’s recipe) Villager of the month, joke of the week,  – to be discussed at next meeting on January 15th at 8pm at The Bell
