Some time ago a couple of Adderbury's latest homeworkers were chatting at the Annual Day of Dance about their new working situation, plenty of benefits, but missing a bit of banter and the support of immediate colleagues so decided 'let's have a beer next Friday lunchtime'.
And there the Friday Club was launched, with coverage in the Banbury Guardian and Radio Oxford, we now have a database of some 40 members, all of whom work from home. A selection of them enjoy meeting once a month with colleagues sharing the same experiences of working from home. We have the occasional guest speaker, we've been on BBC's Working Lunch, and the formula seems to work, as Friday Club has just celebrated its 9th anniversary of meetings at The Bell.
In between meetings there is a lot of mutual support on common issues such as computing, accounting, business referrals, etc
We are always delighted to welcome new members - so if you work from home (self-employed or employed) please come and join us on the last Friday of the month, and have a break from being home alone!
