Volunteers wanted

Adderbury Scout Group are looking for volunteers to help set up a Beaver Colony in Adderbury

Beavers are the youngest section in a Scout Group, for children aged 6 to 8 years, similar to the Rainbow section for girls in the Guides. Beavers play games, do craft work, enjoy days out and learn how to interact with other youngsters.

Having successfully relaunched the Cub Pack last year the Scout Group are now looking for volunteers to come forward to take on the role of Beaver Leaders so we can start a Colony in the village. Full support will be offered to the right people, who will join the team of Cub and Scout Leaders, and receive backup from the Group's Committee and parents.

If you feel able to offer some time to bring a Beaver Colony to Adderbury, or would simply like to know more please e-mail beavers@adderburyscouts.com, or call Andy Green on 01295 810521.

Minnesota Morris are coming to visit Adderbury

As part of their tour of England, Minnesota Morris are visiting Adderbury on 21st and 22nd June 2008.

Once again the Adderbury Morris Men are looking for residents of Adderbury to extend some Oxfordshire hospitality to these travellers. We will be keeping them busy during their time with us so we only need people to provide bed, breakfast and somewhere to ‘freshen-up’, although you will be very welcome to join us on our tours around North Oxfordshire if you want to help us make them really welcome. They are a male side but some will be travelling with their spouses and partners so we do need somewhere for couples. Having toured American with Adderbury Morris I have been the recipient of the tremendous hospitality they provide and want in a small way to reciprocate. I am also aware that those who have provided accommodation to our visitors in the past have found it an enjoyable experience.

If you are interested please call me on 01295 812170 or email me keith-norton@lineone.net.

If you cannot help with accommodation feel free to come and cheer us on at The Bell on the Saturday evening.

Stewards needed for Party in the Park on 12th July. Calling all those who so kindly volunteered last year (and weren't needed due to the event being cancelled) - PLEASE we'd love you to volunteer again this year! Also if you didn't volunteer and are willing to give up just an hour or so of your time on the day we'd love to hear from you too! It mainly involves standing at entry points or going round with a bucket collecting donations, possibly selling raffle tickets and festival-type novelties and general vigilance. It's not an onerous task and can be fun meeting all those lovely people from our village and beyond who come together on the playing field to have a fab day out in the sunshine (hopefully!) listening to wonderful and varied music from a host of talented people from our local area!
If you are able to help please contact me on HELP@AdderburyEvents.co.uk We look forward to hearing from you. If you've already offered to help - hooray! Could you just drop me an e-mail
to confirm this. Many thanks. Linda Leslie (PIP committee)
